Columbus Forge is seeking a Heat Treat Operations Supervisor to be the primary interface with operations to lead with hands on troubleshooting and formulate/implement solutions via CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) initiatives. The Heat Treat Operations Supervisor will oversee a team while defining and implementing plans to support the objectives of the business including Quality, CORE, Employee Fulfillment, and Financial Metrics.
Meet/exceed business metrics goals as defined for each cell (Cost, Quality, Delivery, Environmental Health and Safety and CORE)
Coach employees in team development and motivational strategies; manage all aspects of assigned hourly workforce: time & attendance, time off, rewards, discipline process, training, communications, etc.; ensure that all assigned employees have current development plans and performance reviews
Implement root cause corrective actions in a timely manner to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Demonstrate commitment to the EH&S program by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities.
Identify and resolve process improvement opportunities to enhance quality, decrease process cycle time and reduce operational costs; Keep up with and look for opportunities to implement newest technology in projects
Create and communicate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) on new process and ensure training for Maintenance personnel.
Responsible for covering any/all shifts, including an alternate work week.
Qualifications you must have:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 2 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related industrial environment or an Associate's Degree and 4 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related industrial environment
In absence of a degree, High School diploma or equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related industrial environment
Understanding of internal and external customer expectations to resolving findings
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications we prefer:
Experience in a supervisory/team lead capacity
Understanding of CORE/Lean manufacturing tools and concepts
