TITLE: Painter

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Director/ Administrator

Non-Exempt

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The primary purpose of this position is to maintain the locations appearance by painting, staining, and finishing interior and exterior surfaces in resident rooms, common areas, offices, and other parts of the facility as needed.

ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, patching, sanding, and priming walls, ceilings, doors, and trim.
  2. Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
  3. Match and mix paint colors to maintain consistent tones throughout the facility.
  4. Maintain cleanliness and order in all work areas, ensuring minimal disruption to residents, staff, and visitors.
  5. Follow proper safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  6. Assist with minor maintenance tasks as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
  7. Keep detailed records of work completed, materials used, and areas serviced.
  8. Communicate courteously and professionally with residents and staff, maintaining respect and confidentiality at all times.
  9. Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards in all work performed.
KEY CHARACTERISTICS:
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Able to work intimately with residents, physicians, and staff.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of painting experience preferred (commercial, residential, or healthcare setting).
  3. Knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and proper use of tools and materials.
  4. Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  5. Physical ability to stand, bend, lift up to 75 lbs, and work on ladders or scaffolding as needed.
