Job Details

Assist in performing basic heat treatment processes like stress relieving, hardening, and annealing based on written instructions. Help set up and operate electric, vacuum, and gas furnaces under supervision. Load parts onto fixtures and into furnaces following established guidelines. Use basic computer controls to adjust temperature settings and time cycles under the guidance of senior technicians. Monitor and assist in maintaining the correct temperature and cooling rates during heat treat cycles. Assist in setting thermocouples and ensuring accurate temperature readings. Help inspect parts for hardness and report results to the supervisor. Follow proper safety and handling procedures when unloading parts from furnaces. Keep work area clean and organized. Work with the team to ensure production deadlines are met. Participate in training to develop heat treating skills and knowledge.
