Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP, PayPal Digital Product Leader will play a critical leadership role on the PayPal Team focused on delivering best-in-class products and features for our credit programs. In close partnership with PayPal's Product team, the Digital Product Leader will be responsible for developing and executing a Product Roadmap that meets the needs of our cardholders, program, and partner. To be successful in this role, you'll need to become the subject matter expert for our products and cardholders, with the ability to understand and translate complex technical needs into business requirements, gain alignment with the organization and key stakeholders, develop business cases for new opportunities, and successfully lead large, cross-functional projects. We are looking for someone who is deeply curious, comfortable with ambiguity, proactively takes initiative, and has excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assume role as “Voice of the Product”, translating deep knowledge of our PayPal credit products, cardholders, and industry trends into actionable product vision

  • Develop strong partnerships within PayPal & Synchrony to ensure joint alignment on product strategy

  • Lead and execute on the product roadmap, including development of business requirements, finalizing user experience flows, and leading end-to-end testing & post-launch validation efforts

  • Provide leadership and partner updates related to Product and Customer Experience initiatives

  • Proactively engage with Compliance and Legal to ensure adherence with all external and internal compliance and regulatory requirements

  • Lead our Voice-of-Customer efforts to identify new opportunities and improvement needs in the user experience

  • Monitor and report on key metrics for the product to determine success and identify necessary enhancements

  • Perform other duties and/or special project, as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma and 8 years of Product Management experience in the financial services industry

  • 6+ years of Digital Product Management or Marketing experience that includes:

    • Launching new products or features with demonstrated business impact

    • Managing complex, technical projects in a quickly changing, fast-paced business environment

    • Ability to influence and coordinate cross-functional project and agile teams

    • Delivering formal communications and presentations to senior business leaders and key external business partners

    • Supporting large, strategic partner relationships

  • Proactive mindset, with ability to execute with high degree of self-initiation

  • Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions

  • Outstanding communication, presentation, analytical, and collaboration skills

  • Strong process improvement experience related to improving business performance and customer experience

  • Ability to travel up to 30% (6-8 times a year with some overnight)

Desired Characteristics:

  • Direct experience in credit card industry

  • P&L experience with solid understanding of business financials

  • Solid understanding of payments industry trends, competitors, emerging technologies and companies

  • Experience leading Customer Journey Mapping efforts

Grade/Level: 13

The salary range for this position is 130,000.00 - 210,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
