Forklift Equipment Operator

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate forklifts to stack and unstack lumber on kiln carts.
  • Unload green stackers at production levels and organize lumber in accordance with stacking policies.
  • Collect and sort loose boards, identifying usable and unusable pieces, and transport them appropriately.
  • Maintain cleanliness in kiln areas and lumber yard, and assist with ongoing maintenance duties.
  • Conduct pre-shift safety checks on forklifts, refuel as necessary, and ensure all safety interlocks are functioning.
  • Adhere to all established safety procedures, including lockout protocols.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least six months of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
  • Prior experience operating industrial forklifts, capable of handling 35,000-pound equipment.
  • Able to distinguish between sizes, widths, and lengths of lumber.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various temperatures and loud environments, performing physical tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and execute the essential physical functions of the role.
  • Commitment to following safety policies and effective communication with team members.
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment background check, drug screening, and physical assessment.
