What You Will Do:

The Industrial Engineering Technician will support plant site initiatives, projects, and activities. This includes the application of Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Quality Engineering, Project Engineering, and discipline-specific concepts through:

  • Be responsible for Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Uplift RCCA
  • Work to eliminate waste directly tied to improving machine utilization & OEE, impacting throughput; drive Connectivity Verification
  • Perform Manufacturing Standard Work Audits; conduct time studies to ensure accuracy of routing and identify opportunities
  • Support development and updating process maps; supporting development and updating Value Stream Maps (VSM); support prework for Manufacturing Standard Work Events
  • Monitor and analyze turn backs to develop corrective actions
  • Provide metric and data support of Andon system tied to machine downtime, Overall Labor Effectiveness (OLE), & Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Participate in Kaizen events as appropriate for functional area of responsibility; lead Kaizen events

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of experience in aerospace, manufacturing, operations, quality or related industrial environment OR HS Diploma/GED with a minimum of 6 years experience experience in aerospace, manufacturing, operations, quality or related industrial environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products
  • Experience in manufacturing and non-manufacturing process improvements
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • PowerPoint, Excel, and Access and Visio with experience in Project
  • Training and demonstrated proficiency in Excel Macros or other programming languages
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Experience with data mining through multiple information systems
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, experience with Kaizen events or experience with a continuous improvement program (CORE, 6S, VSM, 3P, etc.)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is $40,000 - $82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
