Overview:
The Traveling Project Manager is a pivotal role responsible for leading and managing a dynamic team, including assistant project managers, superintendents, and field engineers, to deliver outstanding results for our clients. This executive-level position requires an individual who can effectively identify, propose, close, and manage diverse data center construction projects.
Location & Travel Details: In this role, you will travel extensively across the US, engaging in infrastructure projects. This is a fully traveling position, up to 100% of the time, with placements possible in various states including NC, VA, GA, TX, FL, IA, WY. Typically, you'll spend 6-8 months on each project. Eligible candidates will receive a designated daily per diem, vehicle allowance, and potential relocation assistance. Additionally, there is a travel home rotation allowing for one weekend at home per month.

Responsibilities:
- Proactively develop solutions to prevent issues before they arise.
- Thoroughly review bid specifications to identify potential challenges ahead of project initiation.
- Create contingency plans to mitigate risks associated with critical path delays.
- Understand the subcontractor scope and contracts to identify both opportunities and risks.
- Guide team members in developing comprehensive Business Development plans to exceed their targets.
- Engage in interviews to secure new business opportunities.
- Participate in industry and social events to foster relationships and explore new prospects.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication.
- Develop new projects in collaboration with architects, engineers, and owners.
- Successfully identify and nurture a specific niche in the market.
- Build strong relationships with subcontractors and recruit qualified individuals.
- Track and procure new work through the subcontractor community.
- Ensure accuracy in subcontractor requisitions.
- Lead multiple project teams effectively while maximizing profitability and client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with on-site Superintendents to maintain high quality and customer satisfaction standards.
- Oversee the pre-construction/RFP package process with assistance from the estimating department.
- Build collaborative relationships with various departments within Lemartec, including accounting, marketing, business development, and estimating.
- Ensure adherence to the project quality control plan.
- Oversee the completion of punch lists to meet client satisfaction.
- Submit project change orders in line with Lemartec's standards.
- Prepare and distribute meeting minutes within 24 hours of progress meetings.
- Compile and submit O&M manuals within 30 days of substantial completion.
- Complete WIP reports on schedule.
- Ensure compliance with job processes in accordance with policy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction, with an additional 5 years of relevant work experience accepted in place of degree.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Project Manager for commercial and industrial projects.
- Experience in Data Center Construction is preferred.
- Proficiency with Pre-engineered Metal Buildings is required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Familiarity with local specifications and blueprints.
- Proficient in planning, scheduling, and production using P6, Microsoft Project, or similar software.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as estimating software.
- Exceptional organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Professional demeanor with a strong work ethic.
- Able to multitask while maintaining focus on overarching goals.
