Consider applying with us today!Department InformationUniversity Information and Technology ServicesJob SummaryThe Information Technology (IT) Training Coordinator I is a position devoted to providing training for hardware and software to students, faculty and staff. This is a new position created and funded in the 2021 UITS Client Service redesign. This role focuses on helping all stakeholders use CSU hardware and software as fully as possible. The training goal is three-fold: strengthen student success, speed up staff software skill acquisition, which in turn enables further digitization of how work is done at CSU, and increase the ROI of investment in technology in all corners of CSU.This position is responsible for creating a training strategy that ensures correct and focused training support for faculty before semester starts, repetitive and iterative training annually for heavily used software, and for initial, first-time training for incoming software platforms. The position is responsible for identifying training needs based on feedback from all users, and following up with training offers on both a group and individual basis. The successful candidate in this position will proactively reach out to all stakeholders to understand where training can bring success to students, faculty, and staff.Additionally, this position will provide courteous, prompt, and accurate technical assistance to CSU students, faculty, staff in person, telephone, online requests (eQuest), and email. The IT Training Coordinator I's responsibilities include initial assessment, triage, research, and resolution of basic incidents and requests regarding the use of hardware, application software and/or infrastructure components.ResponsibilitiesSignificant Duties & Responsibilities include: Provide technical training on technology hardware to meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff.; Provide support and training on any and all software, to include all classroom and lab software, enterprise software, and all video conferencing tools available to CSU.; Create a positive customer support experience and build strong relationships through deep problem understanding, ensuring timely resolution or escalation, communicating promptly on progress, and handling customers with a consummately professional attitude.; Continuously grow software and hardware knowledge through providing technical documentation to the campus community as well as training.; Provide instructional design support and training for the integration of technology into the curriculum in classroom, web-enhanced, and hybrid online courses.; Work with members of UITS and other teams within CSU on projects and initiatives.; Participate in process improvement and employee development.; Implement new technology services as needed.; Document system performance, bugs, debugging, and program requirements.; Create and maintain brochures, fliers, web pages, and other promotional materials.; Remain current with emerging technologies, new products, methodologies, and pedagogy.; Support faculty, staff, and students in the integration of social media tools and emerging technologies.; Engage with students on campus and attend community meetings, such as new student and new faculty orientations, to introduce and facilitate the use of technology services to the community at large.; Work with CSU stakeholders and external vendors to procure necessary technology (hardware and software) in classrooms, student labs, as well as other student spaces; work with SAS (Shared Administrative Services) to facilitate a smooth and accurate procurement workstream; Improve procurement process through continuous adjustments.; And all other related duties as assigned.Required QualificationsRequired Qualifications include: Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of previous technical customer service experience, preferably in a university setting, or any equivalent combination of education and experience is required.Preferred QualificationsPreferred Certifications: HDI Certification., CompTIA A+ Certification.; ITIL Foundation.Proposed SalaryThe proposed annualized salary range for this position is $46,842 - $51,198 and includes full benefits.Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities include: Knowledgeable in all aspects of computer support and customer service.; Possess technical and analytical skills; also soft skills to deal directly with the customer, offering advice, training, solutions, and guidance.; Demonstrate the ability and desire to learn university, department, and facility-specific applications, technology, and terminology.; Knowledge of personal computers and common application programs (MS Windows, MS Office, Mac OS, Outlook, Microsoft, etc.).; Ability to work responsibly and independently without direct supervision.; Ability to work well with immediate team members and solve problems quickly.; Effectively be able to use and troubleshoot Apple products.; Ability to prioritize and multitask in a busy environment.; Positive and excellent customer service skills.; Demonstrate high attention to detail with a focus on quality.; HTML or web development experience.; Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.; Ability to be creative and innovative in a higher education environment.; Ability to research and apply leading IT trends and standards to the Department and University.; Ability to work with vendors to provide solutions to student technology needs.Contact InformationIf you have any questions, please contact Jessica Phelps, Hiring Manager, via email at ...@columbusstate.eduUSG Core ValuesThe University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
