The Phenix City, AL facility operates 24/7 and is focused on producing a variety of mineral wool insulation products, including industrial boards, commercial batts, and pipe insulation. The site emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Position Summary
Are you a problem-solver with a passion for optimizing processes and improving product quality? Our client is seeking a Process Engineer II to join our team in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment. In this role, you will help monitor plant operations, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support innovation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and optimize plant performance to meet production, material usage, and energy efficiency targets
Conduct ongoing analysis to identify areas for process improvement and implement corrective actions
Develop and maintain standard control processes, SOPs, and setup documentation
Partner with electrical engineers and specialists to enhance process control and modeling systems
Analyze raw material performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and quality
Lead or support major projects, equipment rebuilds, and process redesign efforts
Utilize methodologies such as RCCA, 5 Whys, Six Sigma, and DOE to resolve technical issues
Promote and model safe behaviors, contributing to a culture of safety excellence
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in continuous industrial manufacturing
At least 2 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting production processes
Demonstrated success in driving process improvements and leading technical projects
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
Willingness to be on-call and travel up to 15+ days per year

This is a hands-on role in a manufacturing setting. Candidates should expect exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, mechanical equipment, and occasional work at heights.
