The Phenix City, AL facility operates 24/7 and is focused on producing a variety of mineral wool insulation products, including industrial boards, commercial batts, and pipe insulation. The site emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Position Summary

Are you a problem-solver with a passion for optimizing processes and improving product quality? Our client is seeking a Process Engineer II to join our team in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment. In this role, you will help monitor plant operations, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support innovation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and optimize plant performance to meet production, material usage, and energy efficiency targets
  • Conduct ongoing analysis to identify areas for process improvement and implement corrective actions
  • Develop and maintain standard control processes, SOPs, and setup documentation
  • Partner with electrical engineers and specialists to enhance process control and modeling systems
  • Analyze raw material performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and quality
  • Lead or support major projects, equipment rebuilds, and process redesign efforts
  • Utilize methodologies such as RCCA, 5 Whys, Six Sigma, and DOE to resolve technical issues
  • Promote and model safe behaviors, contributing to a culture of safety excellence
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in continuous industrial manufacturing
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting production processes
  • Demonstrated success in driving process improvements and leading technical projects
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
  • Willingness to be on-call and travel up to 15+ days per year

Work Environment

This is a hands-on role in a manufacturing setting. Candidates should expect exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, mechanical equipment, and occasional work at heights.
