This position ensures the fleet of Atlanta Beverage Company is in peak operating condition while minimizing fleet operating costs and maximizing efficiency. This position will also have a role in the development, implementation, and administration of safety measures in the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Effectively ensures the fleet of Atlanta Beverage Company is in peak operating condition while minimizing fleet operating costs and maximizing efficiency.
2. Procures state required certificates of title and arranges for registration and state inspections.
3. Develops, reviews and evaluates various methods of vehicle acquisitions to determine which methods will provide maximum efficiency while maintaining minimum costs.
4. Develops, establishes and administers various policies and procedures related to the acquisition, operation, maintenance, and servicing and disposition of company vehicles.
5. Maintains preventive maintenance records, vehicle condition reports, etc., necessary to conduct and control fleet operations.
6. Designs and analyzes useful methods and forms for gathering and reporting fleet expenses including preventive maintenance, tires, safety, accident reporting, acquisition and disposal of vehicles.
7. Evaluates vehicle operating expenses and prepares vehicle replacement schedule to ensure minimum operating costs.
8. Establishes and maintains professional relationship with manufacturers, service companies and other organizations that may influence the fleet operations.
9. Monitors and reports abuse of Company vehicles.
10. Responsible for the overall supervision, training/development, motivation, coordination, and evaluation of the Fleet Department
Education/Experience
Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of supervisory/management experience, preferred.
Licensure/Certification
CDL License required.
Master mechanic and ASAE Certification, preferred.
Skills
Thorough working knowledge of all Class 4 - 9 gasoline and diesel vehicles and mechanical components.
Thorough knowledge of preventative maintenance schedules and procedures of all Atlanta Beverage Company equipment.
Knowledgeable of EPA rules and regulations.
Must be able to properly use test equipment and specialized tools.
Ability to trouble shoot and to repair all drive line components, electrical systems.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, government regulations and general business information.
Ability to write routine reports, correspondence and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from both internal and external customers.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Requires the ability to work independently, exercising sound judgement and initiative.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Physical Demands and Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and/or walk, with occasional sitting.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 100 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 lbs.
The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
