Position Summary

NOTE: CHATTAHOOCHEE VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEE OBSERVES EASTERN TIME.

Under the general direction of the Maintenance Grounds Supervisor, the person in this position is responsible for building and grounds maintenance. Some routine housekeeping and servicing of equipment are expected.
Salary: Appropriate placement of Salary Schedule E5 06 ($29,928-$46,327), which is based on years of directly related full-time experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
2. Operate cleaning equipment.
3. Make general plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and equipment repairs.
4. Set up equipment table and chair, and rearrange rooms for registration, graduation and other events.
5. Routinely maintain facilities, to include replacement of light bulbs and air conditioning filters, floor waxing, and other minor repairs as needed.
6. Report all other repairs to the supervisor.
7. Clean facilities by dusting furnishings; washing walls, doors, sills, floors and windows; vacuuming carpet, and cleaning ash trays.
8. Gather and dispose of trash.
9. Clean and sanitize bathrooms and keep them supplied and toiletries.
10. Fog and clean instructional classrooms and office space.
11. Provide lawn care as needed (plant and prune shrubs and trees; fertilize lawns and flower beds).
12. Clean drains, ditches, and manholes.
13. Assist with unloading trucks.
14. Deliver, paper, packages and other items and request.
15. Perform other duties as assigned

Sick Leave
All regular full-time non-instructional staff earns one day of sick leave which is the equivalent of 8 hours of sick leave per month. Unused sick leave is rolled over to the following year. Upon retirement, employees are allowed to convert unused sick time into service time for the purpose of retirement. Retirement
The TRS was established in 1939 to provide benefits to qualified persons employed by state-supported educational institutions. Responsibility for the management and administration of the TRS is vested in its Board of Control. Tuition Assistance
This tuition waiver program is designed for all full-time instructional and non-instructional employees of The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education and their dependents as defined under by policy. The program will be coordinated by each institution for employees within The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education. An application form for the tuition assistance program is available in the Human Resources office and should be completed prior to registration for classes.
