HOURS: Days/Hours Varies
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the patient with minor daily activities such as mouth care, showers, meals, and restroom usage.
Provides general care such as positioning patients, lifting and turning patients, transferring patients, and assisting patients with ambulation.
Notifies appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain.
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety.
Accompanies patients for tests, procedures, etc. Is in constant attendance of the patient.
Provides patient and family education.
Prepares patients for meals, serves, and removes food trays and assists with meals or feeds patient if necessary. Removes all utensils except spoons.
Reports and when appropriate, records any changes observed in the condition or behavior of the patient.
Maintains a good working relationship with staff members and other departments of the facility.
Demonstrates the ability to write clear, concise notes, simple charting that reflects patient care given.
Adheres to all policies and procedures.
Performs other related job duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Requires a high school diploma or a GED state certification. Current Basic Life Support Certification.
EXPERIENCE:
Requires up to six months of work-related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
