Job Details

This position is responsible for supervising inmates working in Columbus Consolidated Government Facilities. Supervises and trains inmates; plans work assignments. Maintains tool inventory. Makes recommendations for job suitability; reports inmate problems and concerns to the MCP prison. Ensures that custodial duties such as cleaning are performed efficiently and according to guidelines. Takes counts of inmates as required; searches for and removes prisoner contraband; administers medication and first aid; responds to inmate requests for additional medical attention. Transfers inmates to and from work assignment. Ensures that inmates comply with department policies and procedures. Maintains daily reports on all incidents, accidents, and activities. Prepares logs and reports on completed work. Performs maintenance activities such as cutting grass, planting trees, painting, sanding and patching sheetrock, trimming trees and shrubbery, and spreading topsoil, seed, and mulch.
